The Psychotropic Medication Use Checklist (PMUC) has been revised. It is expected that the 2004 PMUC be incorporated into the provider's psychotropic policies and procedures. This newly developed class explains the changes in the checklist, acquaints you with side effect monitoring tools, examines the requirements for behavior programming, and affords ample opportunity for discussion.

Detailed instructions for completing the required documentation assists you in compliance to this new checklist. A discussion of guidelines for determining the data reviews encourages you to make decisions consistent with best practices. The intent of the PMUC is to help ensure the safe and effective use of psychotropic medications. These requirements apply to all organizations who provide services to people with developmental disabilities; including waivered services homes, ICF-MRs, SILS programs, and day training and habilitation centers.
