This course is a combination of First Aid and CPR, and will cover the general principles, medical and injury emergencies, environmental emergencies and Heartsaver CPR. Students successfully completing the written and skills examination will receive a Heartsaver First Aid / CPR card, valid for two years.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid are essential skills for all staff working in human service settings. These courses are taught by American Heart Association credentialed instructors. HCS offers additional American Heart Classes, please call for information.
Health Counseling Services will provide snacks and you may bring a bag lunch.
Please Note: It is important to understand that the manikin portion of the course will involve strenuous physical activity.We recommend wearing comfortable clothing. If you have, or have been exposed to, an infectious illness, or have sores on your lips, hands, or face, you will not be allowed to attend the class**
