Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers course is intended for licensed and certified healthcare professionals who must have a credential/card documenting successful completion of a course in CPR. This course will teach you how to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest and foreign-body airway obstruction (choking). Skills included are CPR for Adult, Child, Infant, two person CPR, use of face masks, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and obstructed airway maneuvers for all age groups. This course meets CPR requirements for EMT, nursing and dental programs, and dental offices.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid are essential skills for all staff working in human service settings. These courses are taught by American Heart Association credentialed instructors. HCS offers additional American Heart Classes, contact us for information.
Please Note: It is important to understand that the manikin portion of the course will involve strenuous physical activity.We recommend wearing comfortable clothing. If you have, or have been exposed to, an infectious illness, or have sores on your lips, hands, or face, you will not be allowed to attend the class**
