Policy and Procedure Manual

Nursing consultation contracts with Health Counseling Services (HCS) include an onsite copy of a manual detailing medication administration and health care procedures. Designed specifically for community settings, the HCS medication and Health Care Manuals are practical and user-friendly. Clearly written, these standards and guidelines help staff deliver quality health care, especially among staffs that have high turnover and rotating shifts.

While it remains a facility's responsibility to determine the medication administration and health care policies and procedures it follows, the HCS manual is designed to meet specific state licensing requirements. Drawing upon the expert consultation of physicians and pharmacists, and the requirements of Minnesota state agencies including the Board of Pharmacology, OSHA, The Board of Nursing, the Health Department, and the Department of Human services; HCS' manual provides policies and procedures that reflect only the highest quality standards of care.

HCS retains ownership and copyright of the manual. HCS will review and revise the manual's policies and procedures througout the length of the contract. Each agency will continuously have an up-to-date, on-site, resource of relevant, reliable, quality medication administration and health care policies and procedures.
